Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To recover hydrochloric acid of high purity and conc. in a high yield by burning chlorinated org. waste liquor contg. metallic chloride with a combustion furnace in the presence of steam, indirectly cooling the combustion gas contg. hydrogen chloride and metallic oxide to a specified temp. to separate the metallic oxide, and directly cooling the gas. CONSTITUTION:Chlorinated org. waste liquor contg. metallic chloride discharged from a process for manufacturing ethylene dichloride, trichloroethylene or the like is burned with a combustion furnace in the presence of steam. The chlorine component and metallic chloride in the waste liquor are converted into gaseous hydrogen chloride and metallic oxide, respectively. The generated combustion gas contg. the gaseous hydrogen chloride and metallic oxide is indirectly cooled to 350-600, especially 400-550 deg.C, and the separated metallic oxide is removed. The gas freed of the metallic oxide is directly cooled to 45-50 deg.C to obtan 24- 36% hydrochloric acid.
