Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To enhance reliability by making the main component of the supporting cylinder to be used also as end hat from a metal of No.8 group in the periodic table of elements and by allowing this supporting cylinder to join with cathode filament through fusion of itself. CONSTITUTION:The cathode construction of a magnetron is so made that one end of a spiral cathode filament 1 made from tungsten is fixed to an end tip 3 forming part of the end hat 2 and the other end is fixed to a supporting cylinder 4 working also as end hat. This supporting cylinder working also as end hat, 4, is mainly made from a metal of No.8 group in the periodic table of elements, for ex. Fe or Ni, and part of this supporting cylinder 4 itself is to fuse to join with the cathode filament 1. The end tip 3 is fixed to the end hat 2 formed in a sheet. The supporting cylinder working also as end hat, 4, is born by a cylindrical outer cathode supporter 5 while the end hat 2 is born by a bar-formed inner cathode supporter 6.
