METHANE FERMENTATION TANK

PURPOSE:To maintain the generation of gaseous methane at a high level by providing an agitating means which moves vertically in accordance with the movement of the level of fermentation liquid in the inside of a fermentation chamber which generates gaseous methane by decomposing org. materials anaerobically. CONSTITUTION:An agitating means 9 consisting of a long-sized body is provided to a methane fermentation tank 1. The means 9 is made of a material floating on water, and its one end part is pivotally fitted by means of a shaft 10 to the inside wall 2a of a fermentation chamber 2. The free end side of the means 9 is lifted by buoyancy, and as the liquid level fluctuates, it turns in an arrow A direction. A stopper 12 projecting downward is provided to the ceiling part 11 of a gas accumulation part 5 provided in the upper part of the chamber 2 to limit the ascending range of the free end of the means 9 to the position lower than the part 11. Thereby, the part of the means up to near the free end is utilized effectively for disintegration of scum, and the disintegration of a scum layer 13 is accomplished effectively.
