ROUND AND CURVED WAVEGUIDE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To obtain the good separating properties between two orthogonal polarized waves over a wide range, by setting the long/short axis ratio of the cross section and the angle of rotation of an elliptical waveguide at a prescribed value respectively. CONSTITUTION:For an elliptical waveguide 6, the long/short axis ratio of the cross section is previously set so as to produce a reverse turning elliptical polarized wave corresponding to the elliptical polarized wave which is produced from a round and curved waveguide 1. At the same time, the angle of rotation is set by the rotation mechanism in accordance with the inclination of the long/ short axis of the waveguide 1. Such waveguide 1 has a large diameter and can be applied even in case when the elliptical polarized wave properties are defined by the deviation of the tube diameter as well as a higher mode wave caused by the curve.
