Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a rotary type mold of high strength and rigidity without depending upon casting or forging by using copper type plates welded by an electron beam near the corner parts of a channel of a rotary ring of which the opening part is pressed with a metallic belt to form a mold, in constituting said channel. CONSTITUTION:A casting ring 1 is rotated in an arrow direction, and a mold is formed of an endless metallic belt 5 which is pressed to the outside circumference thereof and rotates in an arrow direction, and the channel of the ring 1. Casting metal is cooled by cooling water 8 passed between the ring 1 and a reinforcing plate 3, and at this time, molten metal 7 near the corner part is cooled powerfully from the other side face and goes apart from the mold surface. Hence, the corner parts are in the state stabler and more advantageous than others in terms of temp., abrasion, etc., in a loaded state. Thereupon, cold- worked copper type side plates 10 and a bottom plate 11 are joined near the corner parts and said joined parts are welded by electron beam welding of less heat input by which deformation at the welding and the softening in the welded parts are suppressed as far as possible.
