CROSSLINKING TYPE PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE

PURPOSE:The titled solution type pressure-sensitive adhesive useful as tapes, having improved weather resistance, pot life, etc., obtained by blending halogenated butyl rubber, dithiocarbamate type crosslinking agent, zinc oxide of a crosslinking auxiliary, and an organic carboxylic acid of an auxiliary in specific ratios respectively. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. halogenate butyl rubber, 1-10pts.wt. dithiocarbamate type compound as a crosslinking agent, 0.1-5pts.wt. zinc oxide as a crosslinking auxiliary, 0.5-4pts.wt. organic carboxylic acid (e.g., benzoic acid, etc.) of an auxiliary, and a tackifier resin and a modifier are dissolved in a solvent (e.g., toluene, etc.), to give the desired crosslinking type pressure-sensitive adhesive. The pressure-sensitive adhesive is applied to a base material of tape, and crosslinked by heating, to give a pressure-sensitive tape having improved retention of adhesion without the oozing of the adhesive to the side of the tape.
