AIR CONDITIONER

PURPOSE:To protect an equipment such as a compressor when an extraordinary condition occurs, by certainly and immediately stopping a compressor by detecting the electric current flowing through the compressor and deciding an extraordinary condition by the change sensed from the result detected. CONSTITUTION:The electric current detectors 13 and 14 to detect the current flowing through compressors 11 and 12, a processor 15 to decide if an extraordinary condition occurs or not by the electrical value detected and to put out commands to stop the compressor when an abnormal condition occurs, and a circuit opening and closing mechanism to stop a compressor, consisting of electromagnetic contactors 16 and 17 and auxiliary relays 18 and 19, are provided to an air conditioner, respectively. When electric vaues i1 and i2 detected by detectors 13 and 14 are put into a processor 15, it processes the value i1 and i2 whether they are within the range of hunting or not, deciding the condition as abnormal if the values are at a point A, that is out of the range, and stopping either one of compressors 11 and 12, by opening either one of contacts 18 and 19 and contactors 16 and 17. Further, if electrical values i1 and i2 are at the point B, these values i1 and i2 are compared with each other to decide an abnormal condition, stopping compressors 11 and 12. Thus an equipment can be protected when an abnormal condition occurs in it.
