Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To suppress the transversal vibration of a hanged flexible wire material, e.g., rope, of an elevator by using a system in which the supportin point of the wire material is made movable horizontally along a flat oblong orbit in such a way that the supporting point becomes the loop of vibration of the flexible wire material. CONSTITUTION:Brackets 12a and 12b provided at the bottom of the cage 1 of an elevator support pulleys 14a and 14b by its shafts 13a and 13b. A wire 15 is wound around the pulleys 14a and 14b, and its both ends are connected with a hanging metal connected with a balancing rope 8. In this case, the locus of the hanging metal 18 becomes an oblong form focused on the rotation center of the pulleys 14a and 14b. Also, the curvature radius of the oblong locus is made larger in order to produce the same effect that the hanging metal 18 moves vertically at a position near the loop of vibration of the rope sufficiently separated from the nodal point of vibration of the rope 8.
