COUNTER

PURPOSE:To remarkably simplify a measurement, and an operation of a measuring device, by counting the number of input signal pulses, digitally displaying it by the minimum digit number, and also automatically changing a unit of the number of display digits, which is being measued. CONSTITUTION:An output of a reference pulse generating circuit 1 is connected to one input terminal of an AND circuit 2. On the other hand, an output of a switching circuit 10 is applied to the other input terminal of the circuit 2. An output of the circuit 2 is applied in order to counting circuits 3-5, and its contents are displayed on a displaying circuit 6. When the circuit 5 overflows, an overflow signal is differentiated at 7, one of this differential signal is applied to an adding circuit 8, an output of the circuit 8 is applied to the circuit 5, and the minimum unit number is displayed on the circuit 6. At the same time, an output of the differentiating circuit 7 is applied to a storage circuit 9, an output of the circuit 9 is connected to the circuit 10 and a digit moving circuit 11, and an output of the circuit 11 changes a unit of the number of display digits of the circuit 6. An input signal is divided by frequency-dividing circuits 13-15, and its output is applied to the circuit 10. An output of the circuit 10 switches outputs of the circuits 13-15 to the high dividing ratio from the low dividing ratio, and is applied to the gate 2.
