PURIFYING DEVICE OF SOLVENT GAS FOR WET TYPE ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC DEVICE

PURPOSE:To keep the catalyst temperature at a safety level within a range to cause no fire accident or the like in case the gas generated from a wet type electrophotographic device is purified with use of the catalyst, by detecting and controlling the temperature of the catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The transfer paper P to which a wet developed image transfered is carried into a fixing unit. This fixing unit consists of a heating plate 1 containing a heater 1a, a carrying roller 2 and a housing 3. The solvent gas of the liquid developer which is heated up and vaporized is sent into a reaction tank 5 by a suction fan 4. This gas is heated up to a certain level of temperature by a preheator 6 and then purified by a porous catalyst 7 obtained by sticking a platinum catalyst to the ceramic to be discharged outside the device. The temperature of the catalyst is detected by a thermistor 9, and the motor of the fan 4 is turned on and off in accordance with the detected value.
