Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To output the voltage of the whole capacity of the converter when converting polarity by also giving additional ignition pulses to a thyristor having the relationship of 120 deg. leading phase to a thyristor ignited by normal ignition signals at the initial stage of the starting of operation. CONSTITUTION:The normal ignition signals formed by a current regulator 1, a polarity changeover circuit 6, a firing angle regulating unit 2 and a pulse shaping circuit 3 are outputted through an or circuit 10 and an and circuit 51 or 52 while the additional ignition pulse signals are outputted through an and circuit 9. Regarding the additional ignition pulse signals, ignition signals for igniting the thyristor V are given to the and circuit belonging to the thyristor U and ignition signals for igniting the thyristor Y to the and circuit belonging to the thyristor X at that time, and ignition signals are given similarly to the AND circuit belonging to the thyristors V, W, Y, Z.
