Zusammenfassung:	This invention relates to a new process for the production of new water-dispersible polyhydroxyl compounds, to the compounds obtainable by this process and to the use thereof. An organic polyhydroxyl compound having an average molecular weight from about 400 to 10,000 which is insoluble or non-dispersible in water, is reacted with a compound containing at least one non-ionic, hydrophilic group, said compound preferably being the reaction product of a monohydroxy polyalkylene oxide and an organic polyisocyanate at an NCO/OH ratio of about 1.2:1 to 2.2:1.
