Zusammenfassung:	The title compounds correspond to the formula I; the symbols used are defined in Claim 1. The compounds are obtained by acylation of the optionally silylated amino group of the antibiotic derivatives of the formula II with a derivative of a carboxylic acid or thiocarboxylic acid of the formula III to form a -CE-NH linkage (E = oxygen or sulphur). Protective groups which are present are subsequently eliminated, and the beta -lactam compounds are finally obtained as free acids or as non-toxic salts. The compounds belong to the penicillin and cephalosporin series and can accordingly be used as antibiotics and as animal feed additives. They have a broad spectrum of action while being well tolerated.
