CRESCENT LOCK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sounds caused by the rubbing of a crescent and a latch metal fitting against each other during locking and unlocking and to prevent chattering caused by wind pressure. SOLUTION: A crescent lock 1 comprises a locking-side metal fitting 4, which comprises a mounting base metal fitting 5 and a crescent 7 mounted in such a way as to turn freely relative to the crescent shaft 6 of the mounting base metal fitting 5 and which is secured to an indoor sash 2, and a latch metal fitting 8 having an L-shaped engaging hooked part 8a and secured to an outdoor sash 3, with the crescent 7 engaged with the L-shaped hooked part 8a. In this case, an abutting protection piece 9 made from a synthetic resin is attached to the hooked part 8a of the latch metal fitting 8.
