Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an O/W type emulsion with an extremely fine and uniform particle diameter, e.g. with a mean particle diameter of at most 0.08 μm and with good gloss and stability. SOLUTION: A method for preparation of an O/W emulsion is a method wherein after an oil phase contg. an oily ingredient and a nonionic surfactant and a system consisting of a polyhydric alcohol are mixed to form an emulsion with a continuous phase of the polyhydric alcohol, the continuous phase is phase-transformed so as to make it into a water phase contg. the polyhydric alcohol by adding the water phase to the emulsion to prepare a preliminary emulsified product of the O/W type emulsion and the preliminary emulsified product is emulsified secondarily by using a high pressure homogenizer.
