MAGNETIC DISC DEVICE AND MAGNETIC DISC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a CSS(contact start stop) characteristic in a magnetic disc device and reduce an attraction force between a magnetic head slider and a magnetic disc. SOLUTION: Equally high microscopic protrusions 4 which are artificially formed in a CSS area 2 of a magnetic disc 1 are so arranged to exist on the inner and outer circumference sides from the center position of a magnetic head slider 10 during the stoppage of the device while the area is so designed to be high in the density of the protrusions 4 at one portion and smaller in the density or have none of the protrusions at the other. Thus, the density of the protrusions is made smaller at a part of the magnetic disc CSS area 2, thereby reducing the attraction force between the magnetic head slider 10 and the magnetic disc 1.
