Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and efficiently produce carbon black of small particle sizes that is excellent in blackness, dispersibility, gloss and coloring power and is useful as a coloring agent for a long period of time by using a specific material at least in a part of a furnace for producing the carbon black. SOLUTION: At least a part of furnace walls (for example, the site contacting with a high-temperature gas stream) is made of a magnesia-chromium refractory (for example, comprising 30-95 wt.% of MgO and 3-40 wt.% of Cr2 O3 ). In this furnace, a starting hydrocarbon is introduced into A (for example, a gas stream heated over 1750 deg.C). According to this invention, carbon black of high quality can be produced through, for example, the furnace process. |
