SPECIAL SOLID FINE POWDERY FLOCCULANT COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a special solid fine powdery flocculant compsn. capable of flocculating suspended pollutants and heavy metals existing in waste water to be treated in a short time by adding it to the waste water and stirring or only dispersing and to provide a treatment method using the compsn. SOLUTION: This composition is composed of together with a soluble aluminum compd. and a soluble iron salt compd. and/or a soluble reducing agent, a natural or synthetic polymer flocculant are used as mein flocculating agents. Carbonate of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal and/or cement powder is added to the flocculating agents to such a degree that an aq. soln. of the flocculating agents show almost neutral in PH and they are further formulated with at least one powdery soil mineral to obtain the objective special solid fine powdery flocculant compsn. This compsn. alone is directly added to waste water to be treated and the water is stirred. After the completion on flocculation reaction, formed flocks excellent in shape stability and dehydratability are separated and discharged from the system.
