PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make contents of a protective code unanalyzable and also to prevent a falsified control ROM from being mounted by making a stored area of a genuine control ROM recorded with the protective code difficult to observe. SOLUTION: An IC package 16 is composed of a CPU 16a for search operation via an external control line in accordance with a control program recorded on the control ROM 17 or operation control of the whole device, such as on/off- operation on a controller 4 for drive control, a DVD signal processing circuit 8, a DVD-ROM signal processing circuit 12 and an I/F control circuit 14 or the like, and a protective code housing ROM 16b, which are connected up via an internal control line. Then, the IC package 16 has no output of a protective code control line (internal read/write line) to the outside, so that control contents of the protective code cannot accurately be observed from the external control line.
