Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel compound that is useful as a pharmaceutical for preventing and treating diseases participating in the activity increase of metalloproteinase decomposing matrix in the process of the disease. SOLUTION: This novel compound is represented by formula I (R is phenyl; R , R and R are each H or the like; R is H or the like; A is a covalent bond and the like; B is -(CH2 )m -; X is -CH=CH-; m is 0-6) and/or its stereoisomers and/or their physiologically acceptable salts, typically N-(phenoxybenzenesulfonyl)homoserine. The compound of formula I is prepared, for example, by allowing an aminocarboxylic acid of formula II as D, L- homoserine lactone to react with a sulfonic acid derivative of formula II (Y is a halogen) as phenoxy-benzenesulfonyl chloride in the presence of a base as sodium hydroxide or a dehydrating agent in a solvent as tetrahydrofuran at -10-50 deg.C. The daily dose of this compound is preferably about 100-500 mg/an adult patient of about 70 kg of body weight.
