VEHICLE FOR COATING MATERIAL AND VARNISH FORMULATED BY USING VINYLIDENE FLUORIDE/HEXAFLUOROPROPYLENE COPOLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material base useful for obtaining a coating material, etc., excellent in impact strength, chemical resistance, etc.. by incorporating a specified amt. of a vinylidene fluoride/hexafluoropropylene copolymer resin comprising a discontinuous vinylidene fluoride/hexafluoropropylene copolymer domain and a discontinuous vinylidene fluoride homopolymer domain into the coating material base. SOLUTION: A vinylidene fluoride(VDF)/hexafluoropropylene(HFP) copolymer resin, which comprises at least one discontinuous VDF/HPF copolymer domain and at least one discontinuous VDF homopolymer domain mainly comprising a VDF homopolymer and accounting for at least 50% of the VDF content of the copolymer and which has an HPF content of 1-20 wt.% is incorporated in an amt. of 10-90 wt.% into a dry resin. The copolymer resin can be produced by the homopolymn. of VDF followed by the copolymn. of VDF and HFP.
