STUDY DESK WITH MOVABLE TOP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable-top-equipped study desk of a simple structure such that the height and effective depth of a top can be reduced by changing the mounting position of a main top at the front of the top so that even a user of small physique, while sitting, can reach a fixed top at the rear of the top and an upper rack provided on the fixed top, and that the fixed top can be used as a mid-rack. SOLUTION: A top is separated into a fixed top 3 secured to the rears of side legs 2, 2 and a main top 4 having a greater depth than the fixed top 3, and a pair of support members 5, 5 are mounted on both sides at the rear of the main top 4 in such a way as to project backward and are removably attached to different positions of the legs 2. The top can therefore be set in a high position in which the main top 4 continues with the front of the fixed top 3 as their respective upper surfaces are flush and a low position in which the rear edge of the main top 4 has receded to a position below the lower surface of the fixed top 3.
