OPTICAL CHARACTER READER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical character reader(OCR) with which exact color recognition is possible regardlessly of the level of an output signal from a color sensor. SOLUTION: A temporary color discrimination reference value is set from an operating part 600 through a color processing control part 700 to a color processing part 200. Next, a slip 1 is read by a color image reading part 100. Image data processed by the color processing part 200 are stored in an image memory 300. These image data are read out by the color processing control part 700 and displayed on a display part 800. While watching the image data displayed on the display part 800, an operator performs the setting change of the color discrimination reference value and determines the color discrimination reference value of a limit not to recognize a character frame 1b on the slip 1.
