POWER SAVING SYSTEM FOR PORTABLE TELEPHONE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone system capable of automatically prolonging the life of a cell because a power source is automatically turned on after the lapse of optional time from the power source is turned off for a reason that a base station is out of a service area. SOLUTION: The system is constituted of a timer circuit 2 to turn a power switch on after power disconnection period passes and to turn the power switch off at a position out of the service zone, a position registration information detection part 4 to detect position registration information from information received at an RF part 5, a control part 3 to set the power disconnection period, to judge a reception state of the position registration information, to judge and control whether the present position is in or out of the service zone, a power switch 6 to apply/disconnect the power based on control of the timer circuit 2 and a data storage part 7 to store each piece of information like storage of the power connection period, storage of a detection result of the position registration information during stand-by operation of reception, etc. In this case, when the present position is identified as out of the service zone of a cellular telephone system, the power switch is turned off by the timer circuit 2, the power switch is turned on after the power disconnection period passes and the power is automatically applied.
