Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent light from being reflected inside an element more effectively, and to reduce the number of films of the elements by forming a reflection protective film including a transparent electrode film provided on a transparent substrate on one transparent substrate. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal element is provided with a pair of transparent glass substrates 11a, 11b, on one transparent substrate 11a of them, a dielectric film 12a, a transparent electrode (ITO) 13a and an oriented film 14a are sequentially laminated, on the other transparent substrate 11b also, a dielectric film 12b, an ITO film 13b and an oriented film 14b are sequentially laminated and the space between the oriented films 14a, 14b on these transparent substrates 11a, 11b is interposed with a liquid crystal 16 by sealing the space with a sealant 15. In this case, a reflection protective film 17a is composed with a three-layer structure of the dielectric film 12a, the ITO film 13a and the oriented film 14a laminated on the transparent substrate 11a and similarly, a reflection protective film 17b is composed with the three layer structure of the dielectric film 12b, the ITO films 13b and the oriented film 14b laminated on the transparent substrate 11b.
