Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for diagnosing abnormality of an aramid based insulating material used electric apparatus which can come to detect readily a local superheating deterioration which is heated at a high temperature due to an overexcitation, an overload or the like, a partial dis charge deterioration due to a connection fail, etc., and can beforehand prevent insulating accidents and support intentional maintenance works. SOLUTION: A method and device for diagnosing abnormality has a step of detecting presence or absence of dimethylacetamide in an insulating portion using means for detecting dimethylacetamide. Further, in the case of detecting dimethylacetamide, it is judged that abnormality occurs in the insulating portion, and in the case of not detecting dimethylacetamide, it is judged that abnormality does not occur in the insulating portion.
