MANUFACTURE OF ALKALINE SECONDARY BATTERY POSITIVE ELECTRODE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which an alkaline secondary battery positive electrode is easily manufactured, capable of enhancing a nickel hydroxide utilization factor with little cobalt adding amount and stabilizing the same by providing an ultraviolet radiation-ozone treatment process in the working process of a paste-type positive electrode manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A mixture containing particles composed mainly of nickel hydroxide and cobalt compound particles is dry-mixed. Slurry or paste containing the mixture is prepared. The slurry or the paste is applied to or filled into an alkali resistant collector. The alkali resistance collector is dried. Ultraviolet radiation-ozone treatment is applied to at least one from among the cobalt compound particles, mixture, slurry or paste, and alkali resistant collector holding the slurry or the paste.
