Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst component which can give a polymer having excellent properties in high activity by using an inorganic silicate having a specified peak area ratio in an NMR spectrum. SOLUTION: This component contains an inorganic silicate which gives an SiCP-MAS NMR spectrum in which peak A appears at a chemical shift of -97 to -103 ppm, peak B appears at a chemical shift of -107 to -113 ppm, and the area of peak A/the area of peak B is >=0.8. The inorganic silicate is most desirably montmorillonite. This component is combined with a group 4-6 transition metal compound having conjugated five-membered ring ligands and, optionally, an organoaluminum compound to obtain a polymerization catalyst. The transition metal compound is desirably a compound of any one of formulae I to IV (wherein A and A' are each a (substituted) conjugated five- membered ring ligand; Q and Q' are each a bonding group; Z is an N-, O-, Si-, P-, or S-containing ligand; M is a group 4 to 6 metal; and X and Y are each H, a halogen, a (phosphorus- or silicon-containing) hydrocarbon group, an alkoxyl, or amino). |
