Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to reflect either of white and achromatic color as a background color by arranging respective pixel volumes so that the light passing respective liquid crystal cells is reflected by both of the first and second pixel volumes. SOLUTION: The first pixel volumes 110 respectively include first volume holographic mirrors which reflect the light of a firS color (for example, red) wavelength band and allow the passage of the light of at least the second color (for example, green) wavelength band and the third color (for example, red) wavelength band. The second pixel volumes 112 respectively include second volume holographic mirrors which reflect the light of a second color (for example, green) wavelength band and allow the passage of the light of at least the first color (for example, red) wavelength band and the third color (for example, blue) wavelength band. The first and second pixel volumes 110, 120 are so arranged that the light passing the respective liquid crystal cells is reflected by both of the first and second pixel volumes 110, 112.
