STABILIZED 1-BROMOPROPANE COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a stabilized 1-bromopropane composition usable for the cleaning of various industrial materials, etc., and free from the corrosion of the cleaning object and a cleaning apparatus, etc., even by using at a high temperature for a long period by including a bromopropane, nitromethane and trimethoxymethane. SOLUTION: The objective composition contains (A) 100 pts.wt. of 1- bromopropane, (B) 0.1-5 pts.wt., preferably 0.1-1 pt.wt. of nitromethane, (C) 0.1-5 pts.wt., preferably 0.1-1 pt.wt. of trimethoxymethane and, as necessary, (D) various other stabilizers. The components B and C constitute a binary stabilizer and a satisfiable effect cannot be attained when either one of the components is absent. The component D is e.g. cyclic ethers, chain ethers, (un)saturated alcohols and phenols. The composition can be used for the cleaning of various industrial materials including products of metals such as zinc, iron and copper not to mention aluminum.
