Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor exhibiting a high capacity and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: This capacitor has a dielectric layer of specific surface area 1×10 m /m or more. A step for forming a dielectric layer on the surface of a substrate of conductive porous material and a step for coating the dielectric layer with a counter electrode layer are carried out to obtain a capacitor 1 which is comprised of a conductive porous substrate 11, a dielectric layer 2 and a counter electrode layer 33. In this way, a capacitor exhibiting a high capacitance and a method for manufacturing the same can be obtained.
