VEHICLE SAFETY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle safety device capable of surely stopping a vehicle before an intersection (or a railroad crossing) on which temporary stop is required and having a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A road 10 is a main road. A transmitter 14 for transmitting a signal expressing the existence of an intersection is arranged on an intersection 13. A vehicle 12 carries a receiver 15 for receiving the signal from the transmitter 14 and a controller 16 or the like for executing the arithmetic processing of a received signal. When the receiver 15 receives the signal from the transmitter 14, the controller 16 displays the existence of the intersection 13 in front of the vehicle 12, detects a distance L from the vehicle 12 up to the intersection 13 and the speed of the vehicle 12 and detects the deceleration state of the vehicle 12 based on these detected results. When the deceleration of the vehicle 12 is unsufficient, the controller 16 generates an alarm, and when the deceleration is still unsufficient after the generation of the alarm, forcedly brakes the vehicle 12.
