METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FORM-ROLLING GEAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously form a chamfered part on a corner part of the gear in form rolling the gear, to reduce the working cost of a tool, and to prevent damages of the tool. SOLUTION: In a form rolling device, a tooth profile tool 3 provided with an inclined introduction part S where the tooth height is gradually reduced from a part close to the center in the gear width direction to an end face 3b on a tooth part 3a is moved in the direction along the tooth part 3a, and the tooth profile tool 3 is pressed against a gear stock W while the gear is gradually engaged with the gear stock W from the inclined introduction part S of the gear part 3a. When the engagement of the tooth profile tool 3a with the gear stock W is completed, the movement of the tooth profile tool 3 in the direction along the tooth part 3a is stopped, the tooth profile tool 3 is pressed against the gear stock W, and a back-up roller 5 provided with a tooth part having a tooth profile to be engaged with a gear to be form-rolled and provided with an inclined part 5c for chamfering at the position opposite to the chamfered part of the gear to be form-rolled, is pressed against the gear stock W.
