Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy by providing a hydrogen generator adapted to take exhaust gas of an engine using hydrogen as fuel as a heat source and generate hydrogen from water by utilizing thermal reaction, and supplying at least some of hydrogen generated here as fuel to the engine. SOLUTION: Exhaust gas from an engine 1 taking hydrogen as fuel is supplied to a first hydrogen generator 2 to generate hydrogen from water by utilizing thermal reaction there. The generated hydrogen is stored in a storage device 3 formed by a hydrogen tank, and at least some of the hydrogen is supplied as fuel to the engine 1 through a first hydrogen supply path 4. Hydrogen in the storage device 3 is supplied to a duct burner 8 through a second hydrogen supply path 7, and burnt here, thereby raising the temperature of exhaust gas G introduced into the first hydrogen generator 2. Further, the system includes a second hydrogen generator 9 adapted to electrolyze water to generate hydrogen, to which electric current is applied through a solar power generator 10 and a night power supply source 11.
