Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a clear coating composition giving a clear coating film of greatly improved brightness without damaging coating film properties, e.g. hardness, processability and stain proofness. SOLUTION: This composition contains a resin component composed of (A) 30 to 80 pts.wt. of a polyester resin containing hydroxy group and having a number-average molecular weight of 1,000 to 30,000, glass transition temperature of -10 to 70 deg.C and solubility parameter (sp) of 9.5 to 12.5, (B) 10 to 50 pts.wt. of a polyester of high acid value, having a number-average molecular weight of 400 to 5,000, glass transition temperature of -10 to 70 deg.C and acid value of 50 to 400 mgKOH/g, and (C) 10 to 40 pts.wt. of a hardening agent of melamine resin, and (D) an acidic catalyst at 0.01 to 5 pts.wt. (as the acid quantity) per 100 pts.wt. of the resin component.
