Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy shock absorbing structure with less deforming stroke required for a roof side rail and a front pillar in a vehicle by reducing dependence on an interior material due to the angle and position of collision when the head of an occupant collides. SOLUTION: A structural member 20 is formed with an outer panel 22, an inner panel 24 and a reinforcing panel 26 connected together via flange connections 28, 29. An energy absorbing space 70 is provided between the inner panel 24 and a trimming material 30, where a hollow energy absorbing member 10 is arranged. The hollow energy absorbing member 10 having a hollow closed face of almost parallelogram in cross section is formed of aluminum extending in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle. When the head of an occupant collides with the trimming material 30, the trimming material 30 is deformed and the almost parallelogram of the hollow energy absorbing member 10 arranged inside is deformed in a wide range to absorb energy during collision.
