Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headlamp for an automobile in which a heavy load will not act even when a reflector is provided with a light distribution switching mechanism. SOLUTION: In a headlamp in which a reflector 20 is tiltably supported by an aiming mechanism E1 which comprises one ball joint 13, two aiming screws 16, 18 rotatably borne by a lamp body 10, nut members 17, 19 into which the respective aiming screws 16, 18 are screwed, the nut members 17, 19 being integrally attached to the reflector 20, the reflector 20 is provided with a light distribution switching mechanism F1 for selectively switching the light distribution between main beam light and low beam light, and the nut members 17, 19 each are held by a pair of opposite horizontal ribs 52, 52 extended outwardly from the lamp body 10, which are vertically located, thereby reducing a load (weight) of the reflector 20 side acting on the aiming mechanism E1 and achieving smooth aiming and desired light distribution.
