Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a novel heat insulating structure capable of coping not only with the reduction of the wt. and cost of a vacuum heat insulating structure and the enhancement of the capacity thereof but also with the reduction of waste and the recycle of a material and provide a heat insulating structure. SOLUTION: A solid hollow cylindrical packing material 2 is charged in an exterior material 1 comprising an airtight material from the opening part 3 thereof to pack the exterior material 1. A packing material 2 is formed by using a heat-fusible synthetic resin or the like. Thereafter, heat treatment is applied to the packing material 2 to mutually thermally fuse and fix the surfaces of individual elements of the packing material 2 or the vicinities thereof to integrate the whole of the packing material. Further, the opening part 3 of the packing material 1 used in the charging of the packing material 2 is airtightly closed, and air is sucked from a suction port 4 provided in the material 1 to reduce the pressure in the exterior material 1 and the suction port 4 is airtightly closed while a reduced pressure state is held. The packing material 2 fixed within the exterior material 1 develops function holding the exterior material 1 against atmospheric pressure so as not to collapse the same.
