Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound output device where maximum outputs of adder circuits at the post-stage of D/A converters are set automatically iodentically in the case that pluralities of the D/A converters are operated in parallel or independently. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a control section 62 that discriminates the number of channels of a received audio stream, digital switches 60, 61 that share audio data of a same channel among digital audio data of pluralities of channels received from an audio decoder 56 to pluralities of D/A converters 63-65 depending o a discrimination result of the control section 62 so as to attain parallel or independent operation of the D/A converters, adders 68a, 68b that sum outputs of pluralities of the D/A converters, and gain changeover switches 67a, 67b that vary gains of the adders 68a, 68b depending on the discrimination result by the control section 62.
