Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image resolution reinforcing techniques with which the resolution of an ordered half tone screen can be changed corresponding to the contents of an image and half tone image processing can be improved by managing these changes based on the contents of the image. SOLUTION: A source image 110 is made into half tone by continuously using a high frequency screen 120 and a low frequency screen 130. Two half tone images are merged, namely, integrated into single half tone image by using weighted average depending on an activity index 150 (140). When the level of a device is lower than that of the source image 110 for forming a final half tone image 170, another multilevel half tone algorithm 160 is applied.
