INFORMATION COMMUNICATION METHOD AND DEVICE AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always receive both FAX and digital information by means of a single machine by transmitting the FAX data at the transmitting side after adding the digital information identification information to the head of the FAX data and discriminating the FAX information from the digital information at the receiving side based on the above identification information. SOLUTION: A transmitting computer 1 converts the digital information into the FAX image information and adds the pattern information to the head of the FAX image information to show the digital information. Then the MH compression, i.e., a general one-dimensional coding system is carried out. Then the computer 1 transmits the digital information as the FAX information via a FAX modem 3 and a circuit L. A receiving computer 2 receives the FAX information from a FAX modem 4 and sends the received information to a mechanism which converts the FAX information into the digital information. This mechanism performs the MH thawing of the received FAX information and also decides the digital or FAX information based on the head information.
