Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core bit which has a long lifetime, can manage with less drop of the boring speed even when repetitive borings are conducted, can produce a hole whose shape is precise and machined surface is smooth, and yields a lesser amount of splash. SOLUTION: A core bit 15 used in boring a pipe provided with cement lining is equipped with a base metal 11 in the form of a bottomed cylinder and a center drill 12 positioned on the axis of the base metal 11 and protruding toward the open end 11d of the base metal 11, wherein a whetstone part 11c formed by electrodeposition of diamond abrasive grains through a nickel plating process is provided on the open side of the base metal 11 in such a way as covering the open end 11d.
