WASTE WATER TREATMENT AND WASTE WATER TREATMENT APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for anaerobic waste water treatment using a microorganism carrier capable of rapidly fluidizing even the floating carrier without imparting mechanical damage to the microorganism carrier and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: The carrier immobilizing the microorganisms is fluidized by using an agitating device 6 having a body 1 which makes oscillatory rotational motion in the method for subjecting waste water to a purification treatment under anaerobic or oxygen-free conditions by fluidizing the carrier described above. The body which makes the oscillatory rotational motion suffices, insofar as the body has a rotationally symmetrical shape and particularly includes the body of a cylindrical shape or a shape known as oloid. More particularly the body having the oroide shape is preferably used. The microorganisms used in the embodiment includes hydrolysis bacteria, methane formation bacteria, sulfuric acid reduction bacteria, etc., in the removal of org. matter under anaerobic conditions and include bacteria having denitrification ability in denitrification under oxygen-free conditions.
