SOLUTION: A wound coating material consists of a constitution contg. a crosslinked hyaluronic acid sponge material with a crosslinked hyaluronic acid sponge layer obtd. by freeze-vacuum drying of an intermolecular crosslinked substance of hyaluronic acid and/or its deriv. and a physiologically active substance. In addition, this physiologically active substance is pref. incorporated into the crosslinked hyaluronic acid sponge material when it is used.
