Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polypeptide having a high homology to the whole length of a specific amino acid sequence, and useful for the treatment, etc., of arthritis, respiratory diseases, thrombosis, diabetes mellitus, cancer, inflammatory disorders, hypertension, neuro-degenerative diseases, etc. SOLUTION: This isolated new UPROT02 peptide contains an amino acid sequence having at least 70% homology to the whole length of an amino acid sequence of the formula. The above peptide and UPROT02 polynucleotide are useful for the treatment and diagnosis, etc., of arthritis, respiratory diseases, thrombosis, diabetes mellitus, cancer, inflammatory disorders, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, stroke, asthma, neuro-degenerative diseases, depression, central nervous system disorders, etc. The polypeptide is obtained by incorporating the polynucleotide obtained from a cDNA library originated from mRNA of a brain of a human infant, a liver of a human embryo, etc., by using an EST analysis, by using a standard cloning and screening, into an expression system and expressing in host cells.
