Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the slag infiltration resistance of magnesiachrome refractories used for lining a vacuum degassing furnace and the structural spalling resistance of the refractories attendant on the slag infiltration resistance without deteriorating the thermal spalling resistance. SOLUTION: In order to obtain the objective magnesia-chrome refractories contg. 55-75 wt.% MgO component and 10-30 wt.% Cr2 O3 component, a magnesia clinker of >=98.5% purity is used as grains of 5-1 mm grain diameter, a magnesia clinker and/or a magnesia-chrome clinker is used as grains of 1-0.074 mm grain diameter and chrome ore grains optionally contg. a magnesiachrome clinker in part of the chrome ore are used as grains of
