Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new polypeptide containing a specific amino acid sequence, having enzyme activity for transferring a sulfate group to a hydroxyl group at the 6-position of an N-acetylglucosamine residue of an oligosaccharicle nonreduced end. SOLUTION: This new polypeptide of N-acetylglucosamine-6-O-sulfate group transferase is a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence of formula I or an amino acid sequence in which one or plural amino acids are substituted, deleted, inserted or shifted in the amino acid sequence of formula I and has enzyme activity for transferring a sulfate group from a sulfate group donor to the hydroxyl group at the 6-position of an N-acetyl glucosamine residue of a nonreduced end of an oligosaccharide of formula II (GlcNAC is N-acetyl glucosamine residue; Gal is a galactose residue; β 1-3 is β 1-3 glucoside bond; β1-4 is β 1-4 glucoside bond). The peptide is useful for synthesizing a functional sugar chain such as GlyCAM-1, etc., to be expected for use as an antiinflammatory agent, etc. |
