Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the reaction between molten metal and a ceramic vessel and to prolong the service life of the ceramic vessel. SOLUTION: This metal melting and evaporating device 20 is mounted with underlays US6 and US7 in an alumina vessel 21 to melt metal directly or indirectly (in the case of using a crucible 22) on the underlays US6 and US7. These underlays US6 and US7 are provided with metallic members 30 and 40 enough in heat resistance and ceramic layers 31 and 41 covering the surfaces of the metallic members 30 and 40 and small in the reactivity with molten metal MT.
