Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a caller to judge whether or not calling is to be recorded when there is a recall from the same transmitter by judging whether an incoming call from the transmitter is stored in a memory or not when there is the call incoming from the transmitter to an automatic answering telephone and selecting whether a former message is to be erased or stored by the transmitter when that incoming call is stored. SOLUTION: Concerning an automatic answering telephone system, the transmitter can select whether the former message is to be kept or erased and when the transmitter knowing well whether the former message is important or not repeatedly originates a call to the automatic answering telephone by himself, the unwanted message is erased so that the finite recording capacity of the automatic answering telephone can be effectively utilized. For the example of a format to record/store the message in the memory as the recorder of the automatic answering telephone, message numbers M(1), M(2)...M(n), call originating telephone numbers TN1, TN2...TNx and a voice memory for recording messages are stored as a set.
