Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of communication while connecting an I/F cable to the host of various performances and a print system equipped/ with the printer and the host even without returning a baud rate to a default value by turning off the power source of the printer or by operating a control panel. SOLUTION: A level detecting part 31A for a received data signal is provided as a means for detecting an electric disconnection from a host computer 10. When a switch circuit 35 is turned on and an interface cable 12 is disconnected or the power source of the host computer 10 is turned off, the received data signal is pulled up by a pull-up resistor 34 and the level detecting part 31A is turned into space state (logic: 0) so that the disconnection of the interface cable 12 or the power source off of the host computer 10 is detected.
